چکیده

Abstract Introduction Despite improvements in survival for other tumour types, the prognosis of hilar cholangiocarcinoma (CC) continues to be extremely poor. Since publication Mayo protocol 2000, an increasing number case series around world have reported excellent outcomes after neoadjuvant chemoradiation followed by liver transplantation (NCR-LT) unresectable CC. Method MEDLINE, EMBASE, Scopus and Web Science databases were searched data extracted from relevant studies. A proportional meta-analysis was conducted pool 1, 3- 5-year disease recurrence rates following NCR-LT. Result Twenty studies comprising 428 patients eligible final analysis. The pooled overall LT without therapy 71.2% (95% CI 62.2 - 79.4), 48.0% 35.0 60.9) 31.6% 23.1 40.7). These improved 82.8% 73.0 90.8), 65.5% 48.7 80.5) 65.1% 55.1 74.5) administration a protocol. rate 51.7% 33.8 69.4) who did not undergo treatment 24.1% 17.9 30.9) those did. Conclusion In CC, NCR-LT confers long-term selected able complete transplantation. Patients with primary sclerosing cholangitis most favourable outcomes. high is concern when considering extending national graft allocation schemes. CC Cholangiocarcinoma, Neoadjuvant Chemoradiation & Liver Transplantation Take-home message patients, results greater than 50%. concomitant post-transplantation.

Effectiveness and safety of liver transplantation for surgically unresectable hilar cholangiocarcinoma: a meta-analysis

Surgical resection (SR) was the standard of care for hilar cholangiocarcinoma (HCCA). But there have been no standard research results as to whether liver transplantation (LT) was an option for the treatment of unresectable HCCA patients nowadays. For that reason, a meta-analysis was performed in order to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of LT when compared to conventional SR. Of 578 studi...

Radiological staging in patients with hilar cholangiocarcinoma: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

OBJECTIVE To obtain diagnostic performance values of CT, MRI, ultrasound and 18-fludeoxyglucose positron emission tomography (PET)/CT for staging of hilar cholangiocarcinoma. METHODS A comprehensive systematic search was performed for articles published up to March 2011 that fulfilled the inclusion criteria. Study quality was assessed with the quality assessment of diagnostic accuracy studies...

Radiological Imaging for Assessing the Respectability of Hilar Cholangiocarcinoma: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Hilar cholangiocarcinoma (HCC) remains one of the most difficult tumors to stage and treat. The aim of the study was to assess the diagnostic efficiency of computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and positron emission tomography/computer tomography (PET/CT) in evaluating the resectability of HCC. A systematic search was performed of the PubMed, EMBASE, and Cochrane databases...

Non-surgical Therapy for Unresectable Hilar Cholangiocarcinoma

Hilar cholangiocarcinoma (HCCA) is characterised by late clinical symptoms. As a consequence, most patients will not undergo surgery, and palliation is the main goal of therapy. For the few patients that undergo potentially curative surgery, the need for preoperative biliary drainage (PBD) continues to be debated and remains controversial, as there are many reports with conflicting results. For...
